It has been a tumultuous few weeks since Elon Musk’s DOGE started to ‘kick shins’ of various U.S. government agencies. Amongst others, young engineers the likes of Luke Farritor, are putting a shift in behind the scenes at the newly created Department of Government Efficiency. Which leads us to the question about whether Hedera is being used by Elon Musk’s DOGE?
There have been numerous stories appearing on X today about how Hedera may be involved in various U.S. government projects. One source commented on how the Hedera network has proposed a strategic integration with Dogecoin to improve U.S. government financial tracking systems. More speculation than real news.
There was one story that may have turned heads though. This was when @VersanAljarrah posted about the Department of Government Efficiency adopting Hedera to timestamp ‘ALL’ federal spending:
The Department of Government Efficiency (#DOGE) is adopting Hedera Hashgraph (#HBAR) to timestamp all federal spending.

Meanwhile, the #XRP Ledger is about ready to streamline financial settlements at the highest levels of government.https://t.co/8moaOS09nn pic.twitter.com/GWIa4EKJqX
The story may seem compelling and, more importantly, very recent. It is, however, from 2 months ago, and doesn’t add any actual recent news relevant to U.S. government policy. It more speculates on how Hedera and XRP are attractive options for the future of financial technology.
At this stage we only can confirm various online commentaries that have suggested that Hedera has proposed a blockchain solution to the DOGE. There is no evidence to support that DOGE has actually agreed to use Hedera.
Hedera influencers remain bullish about the HBAR token. @oroogle posted on Saturday how “$HBAR had been introduced into the Defence Department on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.” This claim has not been confirmed.
45 days into the year and $HBAR has not only been deployed to space by SpaceX, but since today, it has also been introduced into the Defense Department on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

It’s not the first time that Elon Musk and Hedera have been mentioned in the same story together. In November 2024 @oroogle posted how the new DOGE was exploring a federal blockchain based election voting and identity verification system.
The Hedera blog is yet to mention any news on the subject. The same applies to all social media channels of Hedera. For now the value of HBAR is also below what is hoped from HBAR loyalists. As the role of the DOGE increases in importance, the technology available to transform U.S. government agencies may also become more important. Technologies like the Hedera hashgraph.
In other news a Hedera HBAR ETF awaits approval. This has been ongoing since November 2024 and is the next piece of #HBARNews that may affect the price of the HBAR token.
