London, 8th March – Female industry leaders from Encompass Corporation, the provider of the leading Know Your Customer (KYC) automation platform, have shared their experiences, as women who have found success in technology, to celebrate International Women’s Day.
According to research from Exploding Topics, women hold just 26.7 per cent of tech-related jobs, with the number in the industry decreasing during the last two years.
However, to showcase the strong talent and possibilities, Encompass has highlighted the experiences of three of its own leading females, offering insight and advice to those looking to kick-start a career in the industry.
Joanna Kori, Head of People at Encompass, who oversees talent, HR, and performance and development, said: “My generation did not grow up with technology, but I became inspired by what technology could enable you to do, which is, ultimately, stretch your knowledge and increase your capabilities.
“Technology is so broad and far reaching now. You must be open and proactive about making it work for you and your life – doing this has allowed me to enjoy a terrific career, as well as wellbeing and lifestyle balance,” she continued.
Nicola Pickering, VP, Customer Success & Delivery at Encompass, commented: “The pace of its progress and the tangible impact technology has – particularly when it comes to making better decisions and enhancing business performance – is what has kept me motivated, passionate, and driven to progress in the field.
“I would say to other women, especially, be brave, seek out and step forward, and take opportunities. Our careers are crafted by our skills and our value but, fundamentally, our careers are also crafted by the opportunities that we seek and accept.
“There is so much opportunity to achieve in the industry and, with the evolution of flexible working, inclusion for women is greater than ever before,” she added.
Giving an insight into her own journey, Cyndi Festa, Head of Data Sources at Encompass, added: “Technology is all around us – it becomes part of who you are. Be brave and don’t let society put limitations on you, or put limitations on yourself.
“You have a choice; you can ignore technology, or you can jump into it and be part of it. When you begin to understand how some of it works, you can engage differently. Being more familiar with it has helped me engage with others and achieve so much in my life.”
